About The Filmmakers
Si Wall, Director

Si WallI had already studied Law at University and run a thriving business when I made the leap into filmmaking, so rather than sign up for a lengthy 'film-school' course, I opted for shorter courses that interested and helped me, which enabled me to be selective in what I learnt. I studied Documentary filmmaking in Cape Town, Editing in London, then finally took some great directing and filmmaking courses at Raindance, also in London. After applying what I had learned to various commercial projects, all with different budgets and goals, I moved to Europe and concentrated on filmmaking. I directed my first documentary on the ancient pagan ritual of fire dancing (Nestinari) which was both incredibly tiring and rewarding. This 4 camera shoot went remarkably well and we captured everything there was, plus got some amazing interviews. As if a live shoot isn't demanding enough, we had the added bonus of working in a foreign language too. I do like a challenge!

I took a small cast and crew to Marbella International Film Festival this year, where we won the 24 Hour Film Challenge event. The judges were very kind in their praise, and William Shatner commented on the 'creative use of the camera and exciting performances,' which was great to hear.

My time is now spent working on three very different projects. "Visiting time" is a cross platform piece that is being rehearsed now, which incorporates film, photography and live performance. "Angie" is a short and very powerful drama film due to be shot later this year and "Resistance", my first feature film, which we are crewing for now.
